what are some reasons for upper abdominal pain?

i have some abdominal pain just under my lower ribs and slightly towards the right. can anyone tell me what could be causing this?

Sounds like it could be biliary colic due to gallbladder disease. This is usually to the right under your rib cage, although it could just be something like wind which can present pain in most places. Check with your GP. Dont just go with answers on here.

Probably just gas, I know it may not seem like much but it can be a major pain. There is over 30 feet of your small intestines the fact air could go straight through is fairly absurd. Try taking Mylanta, it really helps.

your gallbladder is on that side of your stomache, , make an appointment with your doctor for a work up , because if it is the gallbladder and you eat foods that contain fat the pain will get worse
