On my second month on the pill i had severe abdominal pain with vomiting but it only lasted 5 hrs and then went away. I didn’t stop taking the pill because it had only lasted 5 hrs and the pain never came back after that. Is this type of pain normal for the first few months? Severe abdominal pain is one of the side effects to look out for why is this? I know chest pain has to do with heart attacks but what does the abdominal pain associated with?

Before I started the pill, I had had cramps only once (when I first started).

After the first month or so of starting birth control pills, I also had severe cramps and nausea. I’ve been taking birth control on and off for the past 10 years or so, and I’ve never had a repeat episode.
